Acoustic enclosures for heat pumps at home – standard H1–H12 and custom-made
For heat pumps and air-conditioning units at single and multi-family homes. Up to −25 dB(A) quieter without holding the unit back – for homeowners, property managers and installers.

Three noise reduction levels
How much reduction you need depends on the unit, the distance to the neighbours and the type of area. The configurator calculates this to the German TA Lärm and picks the lowest-cost level that meets the night limit with a margin.
−10 dB(A)
Sound-insulated design with HSA3 inner lining. Sounds roughly half as loud – often enough with some distance to the neighbours.
−18 dB(A)
Lengthened sound paths in a slightly wider enclosure. For dense housing, terraced houses and property boundaries.
−25 dB(A)
Extended plus additional absorbers in the corners of the enclosure. For loud units, short distances and purely residential areas.
H1–H12 – or made to fit your unit exactly
Twelve standard sizes cover the usual outdoor units of heat pumps and air-conditioning systems at single and multi-family homes. You get the guide price straight away, plus sketch, BIM model and specification text.
If no standard size fits – because the unit is larger, needs more air or more reduction is required – we build the enclosure to measure. The configurator shows this directly and sends us your unit data, the required level reduction and the installation situation. We review it and come back with a quotation.
Air routing to suit the site
The grilles have 75 % free area and are sized so that the air never flows faster than 4 m/s. HSA3 sheets separate the suction and pressure chambers – discharged air is not drawn in again and the heat pump keeps its performance.
Roof, rear
Air enters at the top rear. Ideal right against the building wall or in tight corners.
Side, rear
Air inlet right, left or on both sides at the rear. Keep 500 mm clear at the side.
Back wall, centre
Air inlet from behind. For free-standing enclosures at least 500 mm from the wall.
The air outlet is always at the side, front – either left or right, so the air can be directed away from the neighbours.
Construction
MiniTec 45 × 45
Aluminium system profiles, anodised and bolted. RAL coating on request (+€20 per running metre).
Aluminium in any RAL colour
Powder-coated aluminium sheet to match the façade, windows or garden.
HSA3
Sound absorption and air routing with the acoustic meta-metal HSA3 – no mineral wool, non-combustible. More on the technology →
No floor
The enclosure stands on your foundation. Condensate drains freely, service doors give access to the unit.
Safe with propane
Through-flow openings in the base profiles: escaping refrigerant flows away at ground level, so no ignitable quantity can build up inside the enclosure.
Four steps to your enclosure
Enter unit data
Dimensions, air flow and sound power from the data sheet, plus the distance to the neighbours.
Type and guide price
The configurator picks size and noise reduction level – or recommends a custom-made enclosure.
Documents
Rotatable 3D sketch, BIM model (IFC) and specification text for designers and property managers.

Frequently asked questions
How loud may my heat pump be at the neighbour's window at night?
In Germany the TA Lärm applies. At night the limits at the neighbour's window are 35 dB(A) in purely residential areas, 40 dB(A) in general residential areas and 45 dB(A) in mixed or village areas. For heat pumps it is recommended to stay at least 6 dB below that. Other countries have their own rules; the configurator calculates the level at the neighbour's window with and without the enclosure.
Does the heat pump lose performance inside the enclosure?
Not if the air routing is right. All grilles are designed for a maximum of 4 m/s and the suction and pressure chambers are separated. The configurator shows the pressure drop of the enclosure and compares it with the fan's pressure reserve. If it is close to the limit, please check with the unit manufacturer.
What if no standard size fits?
Then we build the enclosure to measure. The configurator detects this automatically and sends us everything we need for the design with your enquiry: unit, air flow, sound power, location and required level reduction.
Is the enclosure suitable for heat pumps with R290 (propane)?
Yes. The enclosure has no floor and the base profiles have through-flow openings. In case of a leak the heavy refrigerant flows away at ground level instead of building up inside the enclosure. Keep the protection zone specified by the unit manufacturer as usual.
Can I reach the unit for maintenance?
Yes. Every enclosure has removable service doors, the twin enclosure one per unit. The enclosure does not have to be dismantled for maintenance or repairs.
Do two heat pumps fit into one enclosure?
Yes, as a twin enclosure for two units side by side, 800 mm apart. The configurator then uses the air flow and sound power of both units.
Which colours are available?
The panels are powder-coated in any RAL colour. The frame is anodised as standard and can also be RAL-coated for a surcharge.
