Exhaust silencers – the slim alternative to an enclosure

Attachment silencer of perforated HSA3 tubes Ø 200 mm for heat pumps, chillers and dry coolers with upward discharge: reduces fan noise in the exhaust path with a pressure drop of only about 8 Pa – fibre-free, non-combustible (A1) and suitable for outdoor use without additional weather protection.

New – pre-design. The insertion loss values are estimates based on the HSA3 measurements; the test to DIN EN ISO 7235 on the prototype is in preparation. Pressure drop and module sizing are calculated.

Support

The modules are hooked into the slot of MiniTec profiles 45 × 45 mm. Number and arrangement follow from the air flow (max. 5 m/s in the tubes) and the unit footprint. All-metal: absorbs no water, UV and frost resistant, washable, recyclable as a single material.

All values are guide values. The binding design (acoustics, air side, structure) is carried out per project by our engineering. An exhaust silencer only reduces fan noise in the exhaust path – for high reductions or loud compressors a full enclosure is the better solution.
